RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and evaluate all applicable legal requirements and corporate requirements related to logistics & chemicals safety.
  • Establish and maintain the management system for RCS to ensure that the services of storage and transportation of products/materials provided by SCM are under control, comply with relevant laws and regulations, and all other relevant requirements by authorities and company internal policy.
  • Support the company in identifying qualified Logistics Service Providers, develop systems to monitor the safety performance of LSP, and manage improvements and corrective actions related to LSP.
  • Set up and maintain the Emergency Response Plan for logistics incidents related to transportation and storage with clear definition of responsibility for internal and external parties.
  • Support the fulfillment of Responsible Care for Roehm Chemical Shanghai in relation to storage , transportation safety and chemical communication.
  • Monitor the execution of logistics activities by LSP to ensure their activities are compliant.
  • Build up a network with similar functions from peer industry companies and work with them to continuously improve safety culture.
  • Take leadership role in logistics & chemical related incident investigations according to company policy/procedure and ensure timely completion of the process.
  • Prepare and conduct logistics & chemical related safety training to internal and external parties as needed to support safe logistics & chemical operations.
  • Establish, implement and continuously improve site internal systems, guidelines, procedures and work instructions for chemicals safety management, including but not limited to the purchase, import, sales, SDSs, labelling, packing, transport, loading & unloading, storage, usage, etc.
  • Regularly/timely implement the application for site related licenses/certificates and get the license/certificates from related authorities, including but not limited to hazardous chemicals trading license ,hazardous chemicals registration certificate, hyper toxic chemicals purchase & transportation certificate, drug/explosive precursor chemicals purchase certificates, etc.
  • Plan and conduct inspections/assessments and audits on logistics safety and chemical safety periodically to check the management and to improve continuously.
  • Create and foster good relationships with related ESHQ authorities.
  • Function as the “company expert” in the fields of Logistics and Chemical Safety.
  • Support and assist supervisor for other required/assigned works.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • More than 5 years’ experience working in industrial EHS or Transportation Safety;
  • University degree with major in Industrial Safety, Chemistry or Engineering;
  • Understanding of logistics processes
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of application codes and regulations applying to logistics;
  • Fluent English;
  • Familiar with MS office;
  • Good oral, written, and presentation communication skills;
  • Ability to lead by influencing;
  • Ability to multiply value by sharing know-how with colleagues;
  • Chemical Safety
