WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS 

 

Roehm America is preparing to bring a new $500M + chemical manufacturing facility in Bay City, TX into production. We are seeking a motivated, on-site IT professional who is capable to ensure delivery of implemented IT Services for the local end-Users and manage the IT aspects of preparing a newly leased Administrative facility. Roehm is a global company headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany. IT is also globally structured and aligned across equipment, standards, applications and Service Providers.  All new solutions and projects involving IT will be evaluated against the global standards and policies and undergo a rigorous approval process. The new employee will work with Plant process Engineers to identify new digitalization ideas and solutions, support demand development  and present  for approval according to defined Roehm global process. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

 

  • Coordinate delivery of defined IT related services for Roehm America’s new Bay City, TX facilities 

  • Responsible for execution of service and project delivery in alignment with global, regional & local plans. Provide coordination and guidance to the local team. Ensure service delivery within budget and on time. 

  • Manage and communicate Bay City’s business demands for new IT solutions; Lead subsequent projects and implementations both regionally and across the global DIT organization. 

  • Assure IT solutions are in alignment within IT guidelines, IT-Security standards, processes and procedures. 

  • Work with the local business Team to define and implement the business continuity strategy. 

  • Responsible for execution of service and project delivery in alignment with global, regional & local plans. Ensure service delivery within budget and on time. 

  • Execution of day-to-day IT service support and operation activities, including: 

  • Incident Management 

  • Problem Management 

  • Configuration Management 

  • Change Management 

  • Release Management 

  • Effectively manage communication and coordinate with global, regional and local IT teams to ensure alignment and flawless execution. 

  • Operationally liaison with local IT Team (Field Service Engineer & Network Engineer), Regional IT Demand Manager, IT Service Providers and IT groups delivering Services at the site as well as the centralized Service Desk. 

  • Ensure compliance with local, regional and global guidelines. Ensure standard service/support processes are adhered to.  

  • Facilitate sessions in process optimization when process changes are required to improve service. 

  • Build effective working relationships with business partners, local/regional/global IT groups, Service Providers and vendors.  

  • Work with business leaders at the manufacturing site to identify IT needs and opportunities to support business objectives and deliver service improvements. Seek continuous feedback for improvement. 

  • Provide IT presence and relevance on the ground at Bay City facilities. 

 

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING 

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or a computer related field and 3 + years of experience implementing new technology via IT projects 

  • Experience with Local Area and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN) as well wireless networks (WLAN) 

  • Knowledge of MS Azure cloud and related applications, M365, Teams telephony, workplace, mobility technologies and support.  

  • Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure. AAD, DNS, DHCP, SSL, CISCO, network communications and security. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills utilizing ITSM (incident, problem, change) and client relationship skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience working with geographically and culturally diverse Teams. 

  • Ability to work in high stress situations while maintaining composure and professionalism. 

  • This is an on-site role for 4 or 5 days per week throughout training and plant completion through stabilization. It is not guaranteed but anticipated this timeframe will be through 2025. Post-stabilization 3 – 4 days will be on-site. Flexibility is needed! Remote work must be coordinated in advance and is the exception. 

  • Limited international travel and up to 20% domestic travel anticipated after plant start-up stabilization.  

  • In alignment with global IT strategy - identify, validate and lead projects implementing new technologies that enable data driven decisions that improve efficiency, reduce cost or improve service offerings. 

  • Support expansion of successful Bay City digitalization initiatives throughout global Roehm facilities. 

  • Operationally monitor external suppliers in area of responsibility, i.e. ATT, Azure 

  • Share knowledge and train others across Roehm locations.
