WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS

As a Maintenance Technician (Millwright), you will be responsible for Mechanical Maintenance (including millwright

and other maintenance duties as assigned). This will consist of removal and installation, troubleshooting & repairing,

overhauling, and preventive maintenance tasks of rotating equipment as well as other mechanical assets at Roehm Bay

City Operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing, documenting, and ensuring the safe and efficient

commissioning and continued operation of mechanical systems in alignment with project timelines, safety standards, and

technical specifications.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Execute maintenance activities including inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and start-up of mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with drawings, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and safety procedures.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment and documents all activities on equipment such as pumps, compressors, fans, piping systems, heat exchangers, valves, and rotating equipment.
  • Demonstrate your ability to use and read precision tooling, comprehend written language, literature, equipment drawings, and a mechanical aptitude to execute the work assignments provided to you.
  • Interface with engineering, plant operations, and EHS to coordinate preventive maintenance activities and resolve technical issues.
  • Properly record and document work assignments for equipment work history and reliability improvements with written notes and SAP entries.
  • Assists in identifying and resolving chronic mechanical equipment failures/concerns (bad actors). Recommends improvements and changes in the design and application of mechanical equipment, piping, spare parts and tools required to perform work. Assists in the modification of plant equipment and facilities as assigned.
  • Supports root cause analysis program for major failures.
  • Assists in planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance work orders. Executes maintenance activities per instruction of Maintenance Coordinator, to include the recordkeeping, monitoring of maintenance costs, and production performance.
  • Contribute to system walkdowns, punch list management, and verification of mechanical completion and turnover milestones.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and remain compliant with all safety standards, company policies & procedures, and display good housekeeping practices at the jobsite and facility to ensure a safe working environment for you and others. · Interact with outside vendors as needed to troubleshoot and repair equipment; Contacts vendors to seek and evaluate proposals for rotating machinery parts. · Additional duties as assigned.

 

WHAT ARE WE SEEKING

  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology or related discipline preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Five or more years of related experience in a chemical manufacturing or refinery operations environment.
  • An Industrial Millwright Certification (NCCER) is desired.
  • Must possess a good understanding of general petrochemical manufacturing maintenance work (i.e., mechanical equipment, pumps, rotating equipment, mechanical seals, pipefitting, fabrication, etc.).
  • Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps; Experience with lubrication standard of bearings and gearboxes.
  • Experience with vibration and thermal analysis for troubleshooting and proactively identifying equipment issues.
  • Ability to collaborate to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions individually or in partnership with process operators and plant engineering.
  • Ability to understand and interpret P&ID’s, engineering drawings, blueprints and layouts.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of electricity and electrical equipment.
  • Proficiency with SAP.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Teams, and Excel applications.
  • Have the capacity to read and update drawing and repair to OEM specifications.
  • Must follow all plant safety guidelines and policies, which includes the wearing of fire-retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
  • Position requires ability to climb, work at various heights with appropriate PPE and fall protection following ESH guidelines, bend, lift and perform a wide range of physical activities; entry into confined spaces; work in various weather conditions; ability to listen and follow instructions.
  • Testing Requirements: Successful candidates will be required to take a physical examination, which includes a drug and fitness for duty exam and criminal background check.
