WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS  

 

As a key member of the management team representing the Region Americas (United States, Canada), the Controller assumes an integral role in the overall management of POLYVANTIS Sanford LLC, including major strategic and business decisions.  

The Controller supports the Managing Directors by performing business performance analyses and identifying areas of caution and opportunity, cost saving and efficiency gains. This position is the prime contact in Region Americas for coordination of activities with the Global Controllers for all Controlling topics (including Controlling, Budgeting, Forecasting, Risk Management, Capex, NWC controls, M&A, and divestment analyses). To ensure that financial integrity is maintained for POLYVANTIS Sanford LLC, the Controller provides timely and accurate profitability and KPI analyses/reports/tools, while ensuring that proper accounting practices are followed.  

 

  

 WHAT YOU WILL DO 

 

This position will support, analyze, challenge, and measure strategic decisions of the company to maximize profitability. This position will support the Managing Directors in controlling and understanding the optimum level of SG&A costs, fixed costs control, EBITDA, NWC and Capex analysis needed to effectively support operations. 

This position must operate as a strategic “thought partner” to the MDs and possess excellent business instincts and planning skills. These skills are needed to meet and exceed the very challenging integration and performance measures as set forth for POLYVANTIS, by analyzing opportunities in the marketplace, optimizing operational activities and investments as well as cost containment. 

 

 

  • Prepare EBITDA quick shot, Reporting and 12 month forecast. 

  • Pursue a thorough working knowledge of the business and develop financial models that will provide the Managing Directors with the tools to improve customer, product, and decision-making opportunities.  

  • Develop annual budgeting, planning, and forecasting in conjunction with POLYVANTIS global strategy to ensure that the management team has accurate information to set goals, make decisions and monitor performance.  

  • Take a leadership role in developing integration of the POLYVANTIS teams in the Region Americas and Germany. The focus on cost analysis means that the incumbent must maintain good lines of communication throughout the organization.  

  • Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial analyses/reports (P&L, Fixed costs, NWC and Capex) evaluating the business's performance to identify trends and spotlight areas where action may need to be taken by management. Make recommendations for action or improvement; gain acceptance and implement.  

  • Analyze Responsibility reports and work with Cost Center Responsible to manage costs. Identify and communicate trends or problems.  

  • Work with external auditors to answer audit questions, Accounting & Taxes on reporting and analysis issues. 

 

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING   

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering or MBA required. 

  • 10+ years’ experience in cost accounting, budgets, controlling, capital analysis, financial analysis, and strategic planning. 

  • Ability to develop the highest level of expertise in SAP R/3 or S/4, especially the FI and CO modules. 

  • General SAP experience of 5-10 years preferred. 

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision. 

  • Excellent skills in Excel, BW (Business Warehouse), PowerPoint and ability to create financial models.
