WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS

Plan, coordinate and implement all maintenance work performed in the department.  Work closely with production to correct problems and minimize downtime.  Establish a high standard of maintenance performance, as measured by equipment reliability, repair efficiency, and housekeeping in the maintenance shops and on-site work locations. 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely and in compliance with all Roehm America plant standards, as well as regulatory (ie. OSHA) requirements. 

  • conform with applicable loss prevention, industrial hygiene, environmental, and general standards, policies and procedures of the company and plant. 

  • assure that all subordinate personnel are knowledgeable and trained where applicable in appropriate safety, loss prevention, industrial hygiene, environmental, and personnel policies, procedures and standards. 

  • responsible for planning, scheduling and executing all maintenance work done in the department. 

  • responsible for planning, coordinating and executing maintenance shutdowns. 

  • responsible for developing and maintaining a written preventative maintenance program, and planning and performing complete preventative and predictive maintenance on all appropriate equipment. 

  • achieve maintenance budgeted levels  

  • responsible for planning and coordinating all maintenance work performed  

  • work with project engineers, process engineering and outside contractors to successfully complete  required work. 

  • assure safety, environmental, quality and craft training of personnel  

  • monitor all maintenance department expenditures including internal/external labor and maintenance materials. 

  • review labor costs for all contractors and items withdrawn from the Stores Dept.

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING

  • More than five years experience in a manufacturing facility with responsibility for maintenance operations. 
  • Experience managing multiple maintenance personnel disciplines, while maintaining proper maintenance material stock control and levels. 
  • Engineering degree plus five years experience preferred, or, minimum of 10 years of equivalent experience in a similar role a plus proven technical abilities (reading schematics, understanding safety and equipment procedures). 
  • Good computer skills and superior communication skills required. 
  • Math skills; Reading skills; Writing skills. 
  • Familiarity in working with the parameters defined in a Collective Bargaining Agreement and unionized workforce.
